Seize ITC while you still can!
The federal solar tax credit, otherwise known as the Federal Investment Tax Credit, or ITC for short, is one of the most significant federal initiatives to promote the development and growth of solar systems in the U.S. In 2020, the ITC is a 26% tax credit for both commercial and residential solar systems.
If you act now, you will get to deduct 26% of your total solar panels cost from your federal tax return. But don’t wait too long! Starting in 2021, the ITC will start to decrease steadily from 22% to 10% for commercial projects and all the way down to zero for residential systems after 2021. Reach out to Action Air, Heating & Solar today and we’ll discuss all the available options with you.
Get storage for your solar system & save thousands with SGIP!
SGIP or the Self-Generation Incentive Program is another fantastic mechanism for solar promotion implemented in California. SGIP is especially appealing to homeowners, as it offers the possibility of covering solar battery costs within their solar installation. Namely, homeowners are eligible for incentives that go as high as $250 per kWh (kilowatt-hour), meaning that they can get thousands of dollars back from the state of California as they use their solar system. As more residential property owners sign up, the incentive will start to decrease, so there’s no time to wait! Give us a call now!
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR SOLAR TAX CREDITS AND REBATES?
Most incentives are available to customers (homeowners and business owners) of California utility companies, including: Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE), and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E).
WHY INSTALL SOLAR?
Various incentive levels of reimbursement exist for California homeowners and business owners. These depend on the projected overall performance of the solar panels installed. These include:
- Angle
- Tilt
- Location
This helps ensure that any solar installation projected is completed with the intent to maximize solar generation and promote clean, rewarding solar energy systems.
