Indoor Air Quality
What is Indoor Air Quality? It is the state of the indoor air and how it might affect the health and well-being of your family. There are three ways to improve the IAQ in your home: source control, dilution and filtration. No one of these methods can solve all of your potential air pollution problems; optimum relief requires a combination of all three.
- Air Advice. The Air Advice IQ monitor, installed by our friendly, trained technician, continuously measures your air quality, all the while transmitting vital data to our IAQ computer for analysis. At the end of the monitoring period, a full report is generated. This comprehensive report includes charts, graphs and an easily understood narrative that give you a clear picture of where your home stands in six critical areas: temperature, carbon monoxide, CO2, humidity, airborne particulates and volatile organic compounds VOCs. Air Advice offers suggested measures if required. Click here to learn more!
- Duct Cleaning & Decontamination. Studies have shown that indoor air can be 2 to 5 times MORE polluted than outside air. Most disposable filters remove about 10% of these pollutants allowing 90% to enter the air system, even during the construction of a new home. The pollutants contain dust, pollen, mold spores, animal dander and much more. These materials collect in the furnace, air conditioner and duct surfaces, just as they do on the furniture and floor surfaces. The furniture and floor are cleaned regularly but the duct surfaces are hidden from view and can only be reached by specialized duct cleaning equipment. These pollutants can migrate out into the room again, or become a food source for mold and bacteria, which can thrive in the dark comfortable environment of a duct system. Such biological growth can release mold spores or toxins into the air system. Click here to learn more.
There are 3 major parts to an air system:
- 1. The supply and return grills
- 2. The interior surfaces of the supply and return vents
- 3. The furnace/air conditioner or air handler
All 3 components must be cleaned. If only one or two of the components are cleaned, the contaminantes from the 3rd will rapidly contaminate those that were cleaned.
All of the products we use are safe, non-toxic and E.P.A approved. Our technicians are trained and certified to NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaning Association) standards.
- Dryer vent cleaning. Maintain the efficiency of your dryer vent and help keep your home clean.
- Air filtration. (cleaners, filters & UV lights) We offer a variety of air filtration systems available, from the basic disposable filter to hospital-quality air cleaners, such as: Lennox PureAir air filtration system, MERV 16 and MERV 10 filtration systems, UV lights, electronic air cleaners, whole-house HEPA filtration systems, pleated filters, and disposable filters.
- Humidification/Dehumidification: Even though a basic forced air system with heat and/or A/C works as a dehumidifier, depending on your climate zone, you made need to add or remove moisture for better climate control and comfort. We offer whole-house dehumidification and humidifiers. These installations save money (through less heating), help sinuses/health problems and protect fine furnishings. Proper humidity control is instrumental in establishing optimum indoor comfort and system operational performance.
- System Home Diagnostics (Honeywell Enalasys (TM) Homescan). Is your home wasting energy? A Honeywell Home Enalasys scan can significantly improve the comfort level in your home, reduce the cost of operating your HVAC system, and improve your indoor air quality through the proper sealing of the HVAC distribution system.
